When a Charging Cable Stops Fitting Securely
A cable that wiggles, disconnects, or will not seat all the way can be caused by the cable itself, port debris, or a worn charging port.
Rule out the easy cause
Try a known-good cable and adapter that are made for your device. Look for bent tips, fraying, discoloration, or a connector that feels loose. If a different cable fits snugly and charges normally, replacing the accessory is the simplest answer.
Inspect without digging
Turn the device off and use a light to look into the port. Pocket lint can compact inside and keep a cable from reaching the contacts. Avoid metal tools, liquids, pins, or force. They can damage tiny connectors and turn a cleaning issue into a repair.
Signs it is time for service
Bring the device in if several good cables feel loose, charging cuts in and out, the port gets hot, or there is visible corrosion. A technician can inspect the port and surrounding connections safely, then explain whether cleaning, a cable change, or a repair is appropriate.
